The Richard E. Bjork Library collects, organizes, preserves, and provides access to special collections, including the Stockton University Archives and unique materials about the general history and culture of southern New Jersey. These are available in the Reading Room, by appointment.
The Library is also an official Federal Depository for government documents. Digital Collections provides open, online access to select publications and historical documents, unique and specialized collections, and the intellectual and artistic work of the Stockton community.

Most materials in Archives and Special Collections are open for use by the general public, Stockton University faculty, students, and alumni. To properly ensure the long-term accessibility and preservation of these collections, they do not circulate and must be used by researchers in a designated space.
During the library renovation, tables will be designated in the C/D Atrium for use. Researchers must follow these best practices:
Please ask a library employee if you have any questions!
Special Collections contain a wide range of formats including printed books, manuscripts, pamphlets, magazines, maps, photographs, audio/visual recordings, and other formats that support the Library's mission to serve the needs of the Stockton community, students, and faculty.
Gifts in many areas are sought and considered to enhance the research and intellectual value of our holdings. In addition, we actively seek new initiatives and acquire new collections in anticipation of, or in response to, changing academic needs and interests. We are also committed to developing unique and distinctive collections in areas where we have little coverage and to reflect the diversity in Stockton and local communities.
