The Bernard Sless Collection has a vast assortment of materials that explores the development of casinos in Atlantic City from its inception up to 1993.
Born in Atlantic City, Bernard Sless saw the oncoming casinos to his city as an opportunity to record history. He became deeply involved in the industry by becoming President of the Casino Research Information Bureau, and from his involvement collected information about the casinos to the time of his death in 1993.
The collection is arranged according to the following series:
Sless’s documents also contained quarterly and annual reports from 15 casinos that were located in Atlantic City at the time. These documents give detail view in the financial workings of the casinos from 1980-1993.
