Stockton University Richard E. Bjork Library is part of the Federal Depository Library Program, which means that the library receives copies of documents published by the federal government. Stockton received its selected federal depository status in 1972. The primary clientele of the federal depository is the residents of the New Jersey 2nd Congressional district, and the students, faculty, and staff of Stockton. The Library provides access to publications in electronic format primarily, as of 2021. 

All Depository materials are available to members of the general public at no charge. A limited number of guest computer workstations provide access to the Internet to view the federal documents and are available to the general public at no charge. Guest (non-Stockton affiliate) printing is not currently available. Library assistance is available to the general public. Users of the Depository may receive assistance in identifying documents not held by Stockton and referral to their local library's interlibrary loan service to obtain needed materials.

Many of the federal government's resources are freely available online to anyone. Some of these are subscription resources and are available to the public free of charge at the Richard E. Bjork Library with a guest computer log-in. They are also available offsite to users who have a valid Stockton credentials.
