Renewals: Renewals may be requested online, by phone, or in person.
Holds: Patrons may request that checked-out items be placed On Hold. This prevents the item from being renewed.
Recalls: The library may recall any item checked out to any borrower. Books may be subject to recall 3 weeks after check-out. Media materials may subject to recall 5 days after check-out. Material needed for course reserve is subject to immediate recall.
Overdue Items & University Accounts: The library may place a hold on a student record if library materials are more than four weeks overdue. Once a hold is placed on a student’s record, they cannot borrow library materials, register for classes, obtain a Stockton transcript, or receive their degree until the overdue material is returned.
Overdue Notifications: The library notifies patrons via email regarding overdue items and account holds. After two overdue notices, the library considers the item lost and will charge a replacement cost of $50 per lost item.
Billed Fines: Students billed for overdue fines may not borrow more items until the overdue items are returned or renewed.
Payments: Made through the Bursar's Office. No money will be accepted in the library.
If the library system shows an item as checked-out or overdue that a borrower believes they returned, the borrower should notify the library immediately.
The borrower is expected to search their possessions for the item, while the library conducts an internal search for the item. The library searches each month for a six month period or until an applicable graduation date.
If the item isn't found by the end of the search period, the library will bill the borrower the Lost/Damaged Item Charge.
