Luke O’Connor, a junior Information Systems major here at Stockton, has received a Board of Trustees Fellowship for Distinguished Students for his project titled “21st Century Libraries: Reinstating the Library as a Fundamental Piece of our Culture.” Our Access and Engagement Coordinator Jess Chamberlain is the advisor for this project. With renovations potentially on the horizon for our library, Luke and Jess will be visiting institutions in and around New Jersey to become better acquainted with the intricacies of the 21st Century Library. The project aims to showcase the importance of modern ingenuity and timeless library qualities working collaboratively to provide a rich and diverse range of resources. It will also explore the challenges libraries face in this digital age and offer recommendations on how libraries can overcome these challenges to meet the evolving needs of their patrons.
