Film & Video (old): Overview

The Richard E. Bjork Library provides an array of films in a variety of formats, including DVD, VHS, and streaming video. Streaming video is a means of delivering video content via the Internet that typically requires a high-speed internet connection for effective viewing.

The library uses NJVid as its primary provider of streaming video content. All streaming videos in the library's collection are purchased or licensed, and access is limited to Stockton's authorized students, faculty and staff.

Faculty, who would like to incorporate streaming video into their courses, must first submit a Streaming Video Request Form for each film every term that the film is used.

All titles in the film and streaming video collection are copyrighted, and unauthorized use or duplication is strictly prohibited. It is assumed that all checked-out materials will be used in accordance with current, standard copyright law.

The Library does not own Public Performance Rights for the majority of resources in the collection, which means that library films cannot be used for screenings outside the classroom. Performance rights must be obtained for all public screenings. This includes those that are free admission. For question regarding public screenings, please contact the Event Services office.

Under Fair Use, films may be shown in their entirety, or as clips, in the classroom as part of an assigned project.
