Image of website on laptop, our new digital collections website is now live. Update your bookmarks with our new URLSpecial Collections Digital Collections is the centralized, publically-accessible database of the scholarly and creative works, special collections, and publications produced at Stockton University and in the South Jersey community. Bjork Library launched a new Digital Collections platform, Preservica, at the end of June.

Among its many features, this new digital preservation and archiving software promises to slow the degradation of files, display documents from many obsolete file formats (think, Word Perfect, Microsoft Works, etc.), and even display some corrupt files. For example, we uploaded a batch of documents from the Faculty Assembly in the 1990s which were not opening via computer - the PDF files were corrupt - and lo and behold, they are displaying in the Preservica platform! Compared to our previous digital collections platform, Preservica has a better interface with advanced search offerings, can store more content, and offers audio and video capabilities. We are thrilled to add this amazing digital preservation and archiving software to our collection.

Stay tuned as we roll out more information about Preservica, including "how-to" tutorials. You can peruse the new Special Collections digital collections site at this link. Please note: if you had our previous platform bookmarked, you’ll need to update your bookmarks with this new link to access the site.
